This item is a Leica IIIC RED CURTAIN created in 1941-42 (SN:377712). There were only 20,550 made. The lens is a Summitar 5cm (50mm) F/2 created in 1940 only 5,000 were made (SN:551091).
The camera body overall is in good condition. The shutter works well. The curtains are in very good condition. There are no wrinkles. The first curtain is RED the second one is BLACK. The shutter is slow at 1/1000 sec. There are minor cosmetic scratches and rub marks on the top and bottom of the body. The coating is in good condition. The leather on the body is in fair condition, there is a minor crack on the front under the lens mount. The leather is loose and has cracks on the front of the body. The door latch on the bottom plate is missing. The lens is in very good condition, the optics are in working condition. The case is in very good condition and has very minor cosmetic scratches and rub marks. The leather on the strap has minor rub marks. The camera overall is in good working condition.
