The Sony XLR-H2 XLR Handle Unit expands the audio capabilities of the Sony FX5 by adding professional XLR connectivity and advanced recording options. Designed for filmmakers and content creators who require higher-quality sound capture, it provides two additional XLR inputs while maintaining a clean, cable-free connection through the camera’s Multi-Interface Shoe.
Supporting 96 kHz recording with 32-bit float audio, the XLR-H2 allows for greater dynamic range and improved flexibility during post-production. It can also create separate WAV files that are saved directly in-camera, helping streamline the editing workflow. With dual ADCs and four-channel input capability, the unit provides a professional audio solution for a wide range of production environments.
The handle features two combination XLR-1/4-inch inputs along with a 3.5mm microphone input, giving users the flexibility to connect professional microphones and other audio equipment. Physical controls and adjustment dials are positioned on the side of the unit for quick access, while protective covers help prevent accidental changes during recording.
Beyond audio functionality, the XLR-H2 also improves camera handling by providing a more comfortable grip and additional mounting options.
