The Zfc features a 20.9MP DX-format sensor, EXPEED 6 processing, 11 fps continuous shooting, and UHD 4K video, while the bright 35mm prime provides a natural 52.5mm-equivalent perspective and f/1.7 aperture in a lightweight design.
Inspired by Nikon's classic SLR film cameras, the Zfc combines retro styling with the flexibility of a modern Z-series mirrorless camera. Dedicated mechanical dials provide direct control over shutter speed, ISO, and exposure compensation, while intuitive controls offer quick access to Auto mode, settings, and menu functions.
Its magnesium-alloy chassis is designed to resist dust and moisture, making the Zfc a practical choice for everyday shooting and travel.
The 20.9MP DX-format CMOS sensor works with Nikon's EXPEED 6 processor to deliver detailed images, smooth tonal transitions, and responsive performance. ISO 100-51200 provides flexibility in a variety of lighting conditions, with expansion up to ISO 204800 for low-light shooting.
The camera can capture full-resolution images at up to 11 fps, making it capable of handling portraits, everyday action, and moving subjects.
The Zfc uses a 209-point hybrid autofocus system combining phase- and contrast-detection technologies for fast, accurate focusing in both still and video applications. Eye Detection AF helps recognize and maintain focus on subjects' eyes, while continuous subject tracking provides reliable focus as subjects move through the frame.
The included NIKKOR Z DX MC 35mm f/1.7 is a compact standard prime designed for Nikon's DX-format Z cameras. Its 35mm focal length provides a 52.5mm full-frame equivalent field of view, making it a natural choice for portraits, street photography, still life, and everyday shooting.
The bright f/1.7 aperture provides greater control over depth of field, attractive background separation, and improved low-light performance. With a minimum focus distance of just 6.3", the lens can also capture detailed close-ups with a shallow depth of field.
An internal focusing design maintains a consistent lens length during operation, while the STM stepping motor provides fast, precise, and quiet autofocus.
The Zfc records UHD 4K video at up to 30 fps and Full HD video at up to 120 fps for slow-motion playback. In-camera time-lapse shooting is also supported.
For vlogging and front-facing video, the 3" vari-angle touchscreen can be positioned for comfortable self-monitoring and shooting from different angles. The camera also supports external microphones and live streaming or web conferencing through USB Type-C.
The 3" 1.04m-dot touchscreen provides bright, clear live-view monitoring and intuitive control, while its vari-angle design makes it useful for low-angle, high-angle, and front-facing shooting.
A 2.36m-dot OLED electronic viewfinder provides a clear eye-level viewing experience with 1.02x magnification and NIKKOR optics.
Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Low Energy provide wireless communication with compatible smart devices through Nikon SnapBridge. Images can be transferred wirelessly, while a connected smartphone or tablet can remotely trigger the camera and display a live view.
USB Type-C connectivity supports in-camera battery charging and on-the-go power, adding convenience for travel and longer shooting sessions. The included EN-EL25 rechargeable battery provides approximately 300 shots per charge.
The Nikon Zfc is compatible with NIKKOR Z lenses and can also use F-mount lenses with the separately available FTZ Mount Adapter.
