Leica's first official "Summilux" lens was originally derived from the LTM/L39 version of the Summarit 50mm F/1.5 from the earlier Barnack series of rangefinders.
Produced in 19,600 copies between 1958 and 1961; its code is SOOME/11114, it was later replaced in 1961 by a V2 version.
