This Gitzo GT2840C Basalt Compact Tripod (Series 2) comes with: a tripod upper "Power Disc"--made of machined solid aluminum, with two locking screws, one to lock the head, the other to safely lock the disc onto the column, giving a rock-solid connection for safety and stability; the G-Lock anti-dust leg-locking system; anti-leg rotation (ALR) which allows you to open all the legs completely in less than 15 seconds; Ground Level Set, making it possible to work very low to the ground; third ground-level leg spread for ultra-low ground position; and self-locking feet. This is a compact version, folding down to less than 17". Like all Series 2 basalt tripods, this one features a new magnesium upper casting for a further weight reduction. It also comes with a Gitzo display cleaner and an anti-dust bag for storage and packing.
Excellent load capacity and torsion rigidity at reduced weight make this a great choice for DSLRs with lenses up to a maximum of 300mm, compact digital cameras, and lightweight camcorders. Available at standard height, Series 2 is ideal when you're looking for a solid tripod without added weight. Tripod head is not included.
