This Eclipse (Orange and Gray) AirHed 360 Switch Head from 3 Legged Thing includes an Arca-type compatible quick release Switch Clamp with a QR3P-EQ Quick Release Plate. Arca-type, quick release plates can be attached or removed from the Switch Clamp by using its push-and-pull cam lock lever which features a safety catch to prevent the QR3P-EQ, or another compatible quick release plate from accidentally disconnecting. To adjust the force applied by the lever while it is closed, an included 2mm hex key can be applied to a screw along the lever's joint. When that screw is sufficiently loosened, the joint can be rotated and flipped over so that when used to lock the clamp, the direction of the lever's motion best suits either a right or left-handed user.
The AirHed Switch is compatible with tripods or support systems that feature a 3/8"-16 mount and has a load capacity of 88 lb. By loosening the AirHed Switch's primary locking knob, its ball-and-socket joint can be quickly swiveled, angled, fully tilted, or returned to its upright position. Toward the AirHed Switch's base is a secondary locking knob that controls the ability to rotate the head 360°.
Cameras, lenses, sport optics, or accessories that are compatible with a 1/4"-20 mount can be connected to the QR3P-EQ Quick Release Plate, which measures 1.5 x 1.5", and has a rubberized, anti-slip surface.
