This Eclipse (Orange and Gray) AirHed 360 Ball Head from 3 Legged Thing includes an Arca-type panoramic 360 Clamp with a QR3P-EQ Quick Release Plate to help maximize pan-and-tilt flexibility by permitting horizontal, vertical, as well as diagonal movements. The head and the clamp each feature 360° of independent rotation and are connected by a ball-and-socket joint which provides 360° of swivel control down to a 90° tilt that can be locked into place. This allows an attached camera, lens, or sport optic to be consistently turned along a specific angle even while it is simultaneously pivoted left or right.
The AirHed 360 is compatible with tripods or support systems that feature a 3/8"-16 mount and has a load capacity of 88 lb. By loosening the AirHed 360's primary locking knob, the ball-and-socket joint can be quickly swiveled, angled, fully tilted, or returned to its upright position. Toward the AirHed 360's base is a secondary locking knob that controls the ability to rotate the head 360°.
Arca-type compatible quick release plates such as the QR3P-EQ Quick Release Plate can be attached or removed from the 360 Clamp located at the top of the ball-and-socket joint by tightening or loosening the clamp's orange, locking knob. Cameras, lenses, sport optics, or accessories that are compatible with a 1/4"-20 mount can be connected to the QR3P-EQ Quick Release Plate which measures 1.5 x 1.5", and has a rubberized, anti-slip surface. That, or any other quick release plate which is compatible with the 360 Clamp can be independently rotated 360° by loosening the clamp's second, black locking knob.
