Please note the crack that has been repaired with super glue. There are numerous scratches on this much loved lens hood that is considered by some as the "Holy Grail" of lens hoods. Good luck finding another one! Please see photos for details.
This plastic bayonet lens hood is the hood which is originally supplied by Sony with the SAL-70400G 70-400mm f/4-5.6 G SSM lens, and is offered here as a replacement for a lost or damaged hood.
This hood bayonets on to the plastic tabs specifically upon the outer barrel of the 70-400 SSM lens, and isn't for use upon any other. The petal shape is intended to provide perfect shading at 70mm when used with a 'full frame' camera, and this hood also has a removable portion to easily access a mounted polarizer.
