Great condition. All functions of the projector have been tested and are working. The motors run smoothly and with no issues. The body has some minor wear like rust and scratches due to age, but no damage that impacts the functions of the projector. Please see pictures for more details.
Siemans 16mm projectors were produced during the 1930s by Seimans & Halske, originally an electric telegraph company. The company branched out to produce other electronic items such as streetcars, generator, electric motors, even electron microscopes. The company later merged with Schuckert & Co. and others along the way. Siemens produced many electrical components for the Nazi party during World War II, primarily utilizing labor from concentration camps.
This projector holds a unique significance, manufactured during a pivotal point in world history. It was also built with some of the finest mechanical, electrical, and optical engineering which holds up even today. This would be an interesting addition to any collection, whether historic photographic in nature.
