The Quantaray 70-300 mm f/4-5.6 (Canon AF version) is a budget telephoto zoom lens covering a 70 to 300 mm focal range with a maximum aperture of f/4 at the short end and f/5.6 at full zoom. It features a dedicated “macro” mode in the longer section of the range for closer focusing and higher magnification. Build and optics are modest: while it delivers usable results—especially in good light and for casual telephoto work—it emphasizes affordability over advanced performance. Autofocus is slower and less refined than higher-end lenses, chromatic aberration can be noticeable, and compatibility with modern high-resolution digital bodies may be limited. It’s a practical choice if you want extended reach on a tight budget and are willing to accept its trade-offs.
