AS-IS Premo D Large Format Camera
Decent condition. All components of the camera function properly. The single lens element has some haze and fungus due to age. The viewfinder has a crack in the glass. The bellows do not appear to have an holes or significant damage to them. The wood is all in great condition, and has no significant damage. The leather exterior has moderate wear, as the finish has rubbed off over time. Lens retracts and extends properly.
The Premo D was manufactured by the Rochester Optical Company from 1893 to 1902. It is fitted with a single achromatic or rapid rectilinear lens with a rotating diaphragm/aperture which is controlled by spinning the wheel at the top of the lens. The shutter is cocked by a small lever on the side of the lens, and released with the button above it. The focusing screen is ground class. It produces 4 x 5 inch negatives.
