The PDMOVIE Live Air Compact Wireless Lens Control System is a popular, entry-level, fully wireless follow focus system known for its portability, ease of use, and battery-powered motor and controller. It's often favored by solo operators and gimbal users due to its compact design.

Key Features:

Truly Wireless Design: Both the motor and the controller are powered by their own internal batteries, eliminating the need for external power sources or cables between them. This makes rigging much simpler and cleaner.  

Controller Options: The Live Air Compact typically includes a small, single-user Wireless Thumb Focus Controller that can clamp onto a gimbal handle or other rig components (15-30mm diameter). PDMOVIE also offers a zoom control version (PDL-AZ) with a rocker switch instead of the thumbwheel for focus (PDL-AF).  

Motor Specs: It uses a Mini Motor Pro that mounts to a single 15mm rod.  

It features a 0.8 MOD gear compatible with most cine lenses and DSLR lenses with gear rings.  

It has a maximum torque of around 0.5 Nm (in later versions like the Live Air 2/2S), allowing it to handle many popular zoom and prime lenses, though very stiff cine lenses may require a higher torque system.  

Wireless Range: The original Live Air system used Bluetooth with a range up to 33 feet (10m), but subsequent generations like the Live Air 2/2S offer an extended range up to 328 feet (100m), making it much more versatile for remote operation.  

Calibration & Functionality: The motor automatically calibrates to the lens's physical stops, and the controller allows you to easily set A/B focus points for repeatable pulls.  

App Control: You can also control the motor via a companion iOS app to set A/B points and adjust motor speed
