The Nikon Micro-Nikkor 105mm F/4 AI lens was produced between 1977 and 1981, about 44,000 of these were made. This lens has a relatively small max aperture of F/4, which allows the lens to remain affordable but sacrifices shallow depth of field capabilities and brightness through viewfinders. The optical quality of this lens is on par with Nikon's other trustworthy glass of the time, and can even rival some modern glass. The Micro-Nikkor 105mm can fit almost all Nikon SLR cameras and can easily be adapted to fit modern mirrorless cameras.
