Excellent condition. All functions of the camera body have been tested and are working including autofocus, all shutter settings and speeds, flash, all natively available modes, shutter and aperture control dials, etc. No program cards are included. There is very minor wear visible wear on the body such as shallow scratches on the plastic. The grip has begun to turn white, as is common with rubber grips of the time. There is a crack along the bottom of the grip as well, but the plastic is still intact and does not impact the camera performance. The lens has very minor fungus around the edge of the lens, which should not impact photos but may grow over time unless kept dry. Please see pictures for more details.
The Minolta Maxxum 7xi was released in 1991. Alternative names include the Dynax 7xi and Alpha 7xi depending on the country it was produced for. At the time, Minolta claimed this was the most innovative SLR to have been produced. This claim holds true, as the 7xi features many advanced functions such as shutter speeds from 30 seconds to 1/8,000 sec, as well as Bulb. It contains a built in flash, with a flash-sync of 1/200 sec and wireless flash support. The 7xi has excellent autofocus capabilities, especially compared to the competitors of the time, marketed as the "world's most sophisticated and responsive SLR autofocus system". This includes having the largest AF area, and fastest, most accurate AF system of any camera of the era. It posseses a 14-segment auto metering system that works alongside the autofocus system to produce perfectly exposed photos. Notably, the 7xi also has eye-start automation, meaning the camera instantly focuses, exposes, zooms, and even program selects when the camera is lifted to the users eye. The Maxxum 7xi contains some of the most advanced features of a film camera, presented in a way that is accessible to even unexperienced consumers.
