First released in 1950, the Leica IIIf was Leitz's first 35mm body to accommodate M39 screw mount lenses as well as flash synchronization. This camera has a coupled rangefinder and viewfinder designed to be used with a 50mm lens. Red Dial denotes the color of the numbers on the synchronization dial, which came with later models along with improved shutter and flash synchronization. This camera also includes a self timer. It does not require a battery, and does not have a light meter.
