The Canon LC-1 Wireless Controller is a remote-control accessory designed for film SLR and Super 8 cameras equipped with electromagnetic shutter release or motor-drive systems. It comprises a transmitter and a receiver unit and uses infrared (IR) light to trigger the shutter or motor drive from a distance of up to approximately 60 meters in unobstructed line of sight.
It supports up to three channels, allowing the user to control multiple shots or several cameras simultaneously when each receiver is set to a different channel.
In terms of compatibility, the LC-1 was designed for a selection of Canon 35 mm SLR models, including the New F-1 with motor drive or power winder, the A-1, AE-1 Program, and the F-1 with Motor Drive MF, as well as a number of Super 8 movie cameras such as the 1014XL-S, 814XL-S, and 314XL-S.
