Pre-Owned - Kodak No.2 A Folding Autographic Brownie Vintage Camera

This Vintage Kodak camera is about 120 years old, optics are very clean for the age and aperture and shutter are in excellent working condition, bellows are in good shape and no light leak. The Kodak No. 2A Folding Autographic Brownie is a vintage bellows camera produced between 1915–1926, designed for 116 roll film. It is known for its compact folding design, leatherette-covered body, and "autographic" feature, allowing users to write notes on the negative. It uses a meniscus or rapid rectilinear lens with a 116 film format to produce 21/2x41/2 inch images.

Key Features and Specs:

Film: Originally 116 film (obsolete). It is possible to use 120 film with adapters.

Shutter: Kodex No. 1 or Kodak Ball Bearing shutter (speeds: T, B, 1/25, 1/50, or 1/100).

Lens: Typically a Kodar 122mm f/7.8 or meniscus achromatic lens.

Apertures: "1" to "4" (early) or f/7.9 to f/22 (later).

Focusing: Zone focusing by moving the lens carriage along a bed with markings for 8, 25, or 100 feet.

Key Considerations: Autographic Feature: A metal door on the back allowed a metal stylus to write on the film's paper backing, exposing it through the red window. Light Leaks: The autographic door and the film advance window often allow light leaks; using black tape over the window is advised.
