The Keystone Twenty (Model K-20) is a classic, Art Deco-styled 8mm film movie camera produced in the United States by the Keystone Camera Company. Highly sought after today as a collectible shelf piece or a vintage entry into analog filmmaking, it is known for its durable, completely mechanical build.
Key Specifications & Features:
- Film Format: It utilizes Double 8mm film (also known as Regular 8). The camera is loaded with a 25-foot spool of 16mm-wide film. You shoot one side, then flip the spool in a dim environment to shoot the other side, resulting in 50 feet of finished 8mm footage.
- Power Source: Entirely spring-wound (mechanical). It operates completely without batteries. You wind it using an attached side crank before shooting.
- Lens System: Typically equipped with a fixed-focus 12.7mm f/2.3 or f/2.5 lens. It features an adjustable manual aperture ring with f-stops down to f/22.
- Framing: Built with a simple optical viewfinder running through the upper body of the chassis (it is not an SLR, meaning you do not look directly through the shooting lens).
