The Canon DR-E12 DC Coupler is an accessory that lets you power your compatible Canon EOS M-series mirrorless camera from an external mains power source instead of relying on the LP-E12 battery. It is shaped like a dummy battery and fits inside the camera’s battery compartment in place of the regular LP-E12 battery, and then it connects to a compatible Canon AC adapter (such as the CA-PS700, sold separately) so the camera can draw continuous DC power.
