Covering everything from wide-angle to short telephoto, it works well for landscapes, portraits, travel, and run-and-gun filming.
A constant f/4 aperture throughout the zoom range ensures consistent exposure and depth of field, while Sony’s G-series optics deliver sharp images with good contrast and controlled distortion. The lens features Power Zoom (PZ) technology, allowing smooth, quiet, and precise zoom control—especially useful for video recording. Zoom can be operated via the built-in rocker switch or assigned to camera controls for variable zoom speeds.
Built-in Optical SteadyShot (OSS) helps reduce camera shake, making handheld shooting and low-light situations more manageable. The internal zoom design keeps the lens length constant while zooming, improving balance on gimbals and rigs. Autofocus is fast and quiet, suitable for both still photography and continuous AF during video.
