PocketWizard Plus Ve Overview

New Compact Design, Same Dependability
A fresh, sleek take on renowned reliability, the Plus Ve is PocketWizard's smallest transceiver, yet it still manages to include the rich feature-set and dependability that makes it a mainstay for professional lighting and remote triggering jobs. This auto-sensing transceiver uses the E Release firmware protocol, making it solely compatible with E Release-updated transceivers, remotes, and meters.
32 + 80 Channels and Hex-Zone Triggering
Suitable for photographers working in busy environments, like sports arenas, wedding halls, or busy studios, the Plus Ve has 32 selectable flash channels that all support Hex-Zone triggering. This six-zone configuration (A-F) lets you switch between multi-light configurations without leaving your shooting position.

For remote camera triggering, 80 long-range channels can be used along with five separate zones (A-E) for working with multi-camera remote setups.
  • When set to the TxRx setting, auto-sensing transceiver technology automatically and intelligently switches between transmitter and receiver modes as needed.
  • When used as a camera remote, two-stage triggering is possible to pre-trigger or wake the remote camera by half-pressing the E Zone button. This function requires a Plus Ve, Plus IIIe, or Plus IVe along with ACC Cables.
  • Auto-Relay mode can be used to trigger a remote camera in sync with remote flashes using just three Plus Ve radios—one to trigger, one connected to the remote camera, and one connected to the flash setup—and the auto-sensing technology relays the received signal from the camera to transmit the signal to the flash.
  • Flash trigger range is rated to approx. 1000'; camera trigger range is rated to approx. 3000'. A dedicated Long Range (LR) mode can also be used to effectively double this range in any environment, with potential triggering ranges reaching into the miles under ideal conditions.
  • Supports sequential triggering at up to 14.5 fps with a top sync speed of 1/250 sec for focal plane shutter or 1/500 sec for leaf shutters.
E Release Compatible
The Plus Ve is specifically compatible with PocketWizard devices using the E Release firmware protocol, including the Plus IIIe, Plus IVe, Power MC2, FlexTT5, and FlexTT6 radios that have been upgraded; the FUSION TLC Raven; and select Sekonic light meters that have been upgraded to E Release firmware. This transceiver is not compatible with legacy PocketWizard channels and it cannot be downgraded to function on those channels.
Simple User-Interface, Sleek and Minimal Design
PocketWizard's smallest transceiver yet, the Plus Ve has a streamlined design without a protruding antenna. The total height is 3.5" and the foot can be removed, revealing a 1/4"-20 mount, for an even smaller profile. In traditional PocketWizard design, the user-interface is also intuitive and straightforward for immediate use.
  • Compact and lightweight design — 3.5 x 2 x 0.7" and weighs just 2.5 oz with the battery installed.
  • Foot connects directly to a camera synced triggering without a cable; the foot can be removed for a sleeker design, especially when used with strobes.
  • 1/8" sync port for cabled connections; compatible with a wide variety of sync cables and ACC camera cables.
  • Simple interface is navigable via the 0.7" color OLED screen and a series of soft, physical buttons to adjust the settings.
  • Removable lithium-ion battery can be charged inside the Plus Ve via the USB-C port; this 800 mAh battery lasts approximately 35 hours and requires 2.5 hours to charge.
