The HB-58 Bayonet Lens Hood from Nikon is compatible with the AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR lens. It prevents lens flare caused by stray light from the sun or other sources, and also protects the front element of the lens against impact if you get too close to your subject.
