Designed to work with a wide range of devices, the system includes a coin-style transmitter with a customizable 1.22" E-Ink display, letting you add logos or graphics through the Insta360 app for a more polished, professional look. A camera-mount receiver with an integrated cold shoe, display, and onboard controls allows for quick, intuitive adjustments, while maintaining a reliable wireless connection at distances up to 1312 feet.
The transmitter features onboard 32-bit float recording with 32GB of internal storage, giving you excellent dynamic range and a dependable backup of your audio. Advanced processing—powered by an NPU-based AI noise reduction chip—works alongside automatic gain control and a low-cut filter to deliver clean, consistent sound in a variety of recording environments. Transferred files are easily accessed via USB-C for fast workflow integration.
On the receiver side, a built-in touchscreen and control dial provide hands-on management of your audio settings. A 3.5mm TRS output ensures compatibility with cameras and other recording devices, while the included USB-C adapter enables direct connection to laptops and mobile devices. Optional Lightning support is available via a separately sold adapter. The receiver supports two audio channels by default, with the ability to expand to four channels using additional accessories and built-in recording modes.
For more advanced setups, Multi-Person mode allows up to four transmitters to connect to a single receiver, capturing separate, synchronized audio tracks. Multi-Cam mode enables one transmitter to pair with up to four receivers for coordinated recording across multiple cameras—when used with a separately available camera adapter for compatible Sony systems. Timecode synchronization is also supported, helping streamline postproduction workflows.
The transmitter’s 1.22" six-color E-Ink display can be customized with images or branding via the Insta360 app. Its integrated three-microphone array supports omnidirectional, supercardioid, and figure-8 pickup patterns, giving you flexibility for everything from solo narration to interviews. For a more discreet setup, the transmitter can also be paired with an external lavalier microphone using an optional USB-C to 3.5mm adapter.

With Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity, the transmitter can link directly to Insta360 X5, Ace Pro 2, and GO Ultra cameras, allowing you to record high-quality 48 kHz audio without needing the receiver. Battery performance supports extended use, with up to 11 hours of operation for the receiver and up to 10 hours for the transmitter.
