Two flexible arms can be positioned independently around your subject, allowing you to place light exactly where it is needed. Dual hot shoe mounts at the ends of the arms let you attach separately available Godox mini flashes, including the iM20, iM22, iT22, and iT20, for additional lighting power and creative control.
The MA2 is ideal for photographing flowers, insects, jewelry, products, textures, and other small subjects where revealing fine detail, dimension, and surface texture is essential. LED output can be adjusted from 0 to 100% brightness with a variable color temperature range of 2800 to 6500K, making the MA2 useful for both still photography and video.
A built-in 3300mAh rechargeable battery, USB-C charging, magnetic diffuser, independent A/B light control, and lightweight 12 oz design make the MA2 a highly portable solution for photographers and video creators who work at close distances.

The MA2 offers both flash and continuous LED modes, giving you the flexibility to choose the lighting approach that best suits your subject.
In flash mode, the MA2 supports S1 and S2 optical triggering, allowing it to work with manual flash setups as well as systems that use pre-flashes for TTL operation. This makes it useful as part of a compact off-camera or macro lighting setup.
In LED mode, brightness can be adjusted continuously from 0 to 100%, while color temperature ranges from 2800 to 6500K. This provides everything from warm, tungsten-like illumination to cooler daylight tones, making the MA2 suitable for video fill, focus assistance, and creative lighting effects.
The LED light can also function as a modeling light when using flash, allowing you to preview the direction and character of the illumination before taking the shot.
With A/B dual-channel control, the two sides of the MA2 can be operated independently. Illuminate both sides for even, balanced fill, or activate only the left or right light source for more directional lighting and increased depth.
This control is particularly useful for macro subjects, where even a small change in light direction can dramatically affect texture, shadows, and three-dimensionality.
The MA2 features an integrated 3300mAh rechargeable battery, eliminating the need for disposable batteries and making it particularly convenient for outdoor photography.

For softer and more controlled close-up illumination, the MA2 includes the MA02-D magnetic diffuser. Its magnetic base and snap fasteners allow the diffuser to be attached or removed quickly, making it easy to change your setup while shooting.
The diffuser can be folded upward or downward to adjust its position, and its edges can be gently shaped to modify the way light spreads across your subject. By softening the light, it helps reduce harsh highlights and creates smoother, more natural-looking shadows.
This is especially useful when photographing reflective, glossy, metallic, or highly textured subjects where direct light can otherwise produce distracting hotspots.
The MA2 can be combined with separately available macro accessories for even greater close-up capability. It is compatible with the Godox MCL-250 2.5x Macro Conversion Lens, which accommodates filter threads from 49 to 67mm. The MCL-250 can also be paired with the MCL-D Conversion Lens Diffuser for additional control over close-up illumination.
For further light diffusion, the separately available MA02-BD Diffuser Box can be used to soften the MA2's output. The diffuser box can be particularly helpful when working at very close distances or with subjects that require a gentler, more evenly distributed light source.
With a CRI rating of 96 and TLCI rating of 97, the MA2 delivers accurate color reproduction for both photography and video. This makes it well suited to subjects where accurate color is important, including flowers, products, artwork, collectibles, and other detailed close-up subjects.
