Mechanical Design: The SR-T 202 is a fully mechanical camera, meaning it can function at all shutter speeds without a battery. The battery is only required for the built-in light meter.
Shutter: Features a cloth focal plane shutter with speeds from 1 to 1/1000th of a second plus Bulb (B).
Metering System: Utilizes Minolta's Contrast Light Compensation (CLC) through-the-lens (TTL) matrix metering system, which was considered advanced for its time. Exposure is adjusted using a match-needle system displayed in the viewfinder.
Viewfinder: Provides a bright viewfinder with a split image in the center surrounded by a microprism collar for precise focusing. The selected shutter speed and aperture are also visible in the viewfinder, though they are illuminated by ambient light and can be difficult to read in low-light conditions.
