Old stock - This is a new item. This is a focus screen made originally for the Canon A-1 film camera. No wear or damage to item itself, box shows some wear due to age. See image for more details.
On the Canon A-1, Canon offered a series of optional focusing screens identified by letter codes that could be installed by a technician at a service center. The Type D screen is essentially a matte focusing screen with etched grid lines running horizontally and vertically across the surface. This gives you a plain matte field for focusing, not a split-image or microprism spot, but with the added grid etched into the screen to help with composition and alignment, especially in situations like architectural photography or copy work where keeping lines straight and level is important.
