The Olympus Stylus 740 Digital Camera features a 5x optical zoom, and a 7.1 million pixel CCD for photos bursting with detail. Remarkably, the extra zoom power has not affected the size, as the camera features a sleek, ultra-compact design and weatherproof metal body. The versatile 5x, zoom lens is equivalent to 36-180mm on a 35mm camera, and is great for capturing more general scenes or zooming in to capture specific details. The Stylus 740 is incredibly thin at less than 1" thick, and it boasts all the quality features you expect from a Stylus. With an amazing 28x total zoom, Digital Image Stabilization (DIS) and Bright Capture Technology, you'll capture near-perfect images every time.

With a high quality 5x optical zoom lens (equivalent to 36-180mm on a 35mm camera), the Olympus Stylus 740 is well suited to close-ups and telephoto photography. There is also a 5.6x digital zoom that when combined with the optical zoom yields 28x total zoom.
Digital Image Stabilization
Incorporating high sensitivity options and a fast shutter speed, the Digital Image Stabilization Mode (DIS) frees pictures from the blur that is sometimes caused by a moving subject.
Bright Capture Technology
BrightCapture Technology enhances shooting capabilities in a wide range of challenging lighting situations - without always needing to use the flash. This makes capturing the true atmosphere of candle-lit dinners, indoor parties or other night scenes much easier. And even at the high maximum ISO value of 1600 photographers can still take full advantage of the entire 7.1 million pixel resolution.

Pixel Mapping & Noise Reduction
Automatic Pixel Mapping (APM) available via menu setting identifies any failed pixels that may accumulate over time and compensates for them automatically. Furthermore, to maintain high image quality, noise reduction is set automatically at shutter speeds of 0.5 second or longer.
Easy Scene Modes
The camera is equipped with a choice of 23 scene modes (including Portrait, Landscape and Sports) that cover just about every common photo situation.
Panorama Mode
The panorama mode permits users to take up to 10 frames that are automatically stitchable with Olympus Master software when using an Olympus brand xD-Picture card.
Record Video with Sound
Record video at VGA resolution (640 x 480 pixels) with sound, at a frame rate of 15 fps for high quality vide images and smooth playback.
