Description

Pairing two versatile primes for DX shooters, along with a wealth of photography education, the Macro & Portrait Two Lens Kit fromNikon includes the AF-S DX Micro NIKKOR 85mm f/3.5G ED VR lens, the AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G lens, Macro and Portrait Photography Guides, and access to an online class from Craftsy.com. This bundle provides you with a pair of tools that are ideal for taking close-up and portrait photographs, as well as a series of learning tools to refine your skills.

The AF-S DX Micro NIKKOR 85mm f/3.5G ED VR is a DX-format lens offering a 127.5mm equivalent focal length. A maximum 1:1, life-size reproduction ratio combines with a minimum focusing distance of 11.25" for recording detailed close-ups of small objects, as well as general subjects with its mid-telephoto perspective. Vibration Reduction II image stabilization compensates for three stops of camera shake for sharper handheld shooting and a Silent Wave Motor contributes to fast, smooth, and quiet focusing performance. The optical design incorporates one extra-low dispersion element to minimize chromatic aberrations and a Super Integrated Coating reduces flare and ghosting.

Complementing the macro lens is the AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8 lens, which provides a slightly-longer-than-normal 52.5mm equivalent focal length. This perspective, coupled with the bright f/1.8 maximum aperture, is ideal for isolating subjects using selective focusing techniques, and the Silent Wave Motor offers precise AF performance along with full-time manual focus override for fine-tuning your focus position. One aspherical element is used to control aberrations and distortions, and a Super Integrated Coating is featured again to minimize ghosting and lens flare.

Helping to make the most out the two included lenses are a pair of educational booklets: the Nikon Macro Photography Guide and the Nikon Portrait Photography Guide. Each publication offers a series of exercises to help hone your skill-set and offers useful insight and tips for improving your close-up and portrait craft. Additionally, rounding out the kit is access to the online class "Get to Know Your Lenses: Portrait, Macro & More" from Craftsy.com. Led by professional photographer, Layne Kennedy, this course covers the basics of both macro and portrait shooting and utilizes Craftsy's unique online platform that allows you to easily follow along, take notes, and interact with Layne and other students to get the most out of your education.
