The Nikon AS-6 is a flash coupler (adapter) that allows you to mount a Nikon F3-specific flash, such as the SB-16A or SB-17, onto a Nikon camera body with a standard ISO-type hot shoe. It primarily serves to enable basic flash synchronization and support the flash ready-light function, but it does not support TTL (Through-The-Lens) flash operation.

Function: Converts a camera body's standard ISO flash shoe to accept flashes with the Nikon F3-style foot.
