Fair condition. The shutter speed is inaccurate at lower settings, 1/30 sec. operates more like 1/15 sec. or 1/8 sec. If the shutter release button is held down on any setting, the shutter becomes stuck and does not advance when the knob is twisted. The advance knob will eventually wind the shutter again but there is no certainty of when. The body is cosmetically fantastic, there is no notable wear, no scratches on the bottom plate, no rust or tarnish, etc. Please see pictures for more details.
This body needs to be CLA'ed in order to function reliably.
AS-IS - Leica IIIg Rangefinder 1957 (Shutter issues) is a great project camera for Leica film fans. It shows excellent cosmetic condition, with minimal visible wear. The shutter has known performance problems at lower speeds, and it may behave inconsistently. When the shutter release is held, the shutter can become stuck and may not advance right away. The advance knob can eventually wind it again, but timing is not guaranteed. For reliable results, plan to have it professionally CLA serviced.
