The Tehkron Cage Pro Powered Cage for GoPro HERO3/HERO3+ from XP PhotoGear is a camera cage that incorporates a powering system based on LP-E6 type batteries. The cage not only helps protect the camera, it provides a top handle to give you a wider range of hand-held shooting options. A series of 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threaded mounting points allow you to attach many standard video accessories directly to the cage, and a 62mm filter thread allows you to add on standard filters, such as polarizers and NDs.
The cage is designed to fit either the GoPro HERO3 or the HERO3+ and requires either camera be placed in the "original" HERO3 Skeleton Housing to ensure full compatibility.
LP-E6-Based Power System
Thanks to a battery compartment incorporated into the cage, you can use an LP-E6 type battery--the same battery used on many Canon DSLRs--to extend the battery life of your GoPro. Each LP-E6 type battery allows the camera to run for up to five hours per charge
62mm Filter Threading
One limitation of standard GoPro housings is that special adapters are required to add filters. The Cage Pro features a 62mm filter thread allowing you to attach a wide range of standard photographic and video filters, including ND, polarizer, and effects filters. 1
Top Handle
Designed to make it easier to capture hand-held shots that would be difficult otherwise because of the nature of the GoPro housing, especially low-angle shots or shots that require the camera to be close to the ground. In addition, 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 holes tapped into the top and sides of the handle allow you to mount a variety of add-on accessories and can also be used for securing the camera to tripods, camera support equipment, or other structures
